Looks like this winter is gaping up to have a very strong El Nino effect out here in CA. So that means a really wet winter, and nothing kills volume like rain in the forecast.

I remember a few years ago, there was an insurance company that marketing rain insurance to car wash owners.

Anybody remember that company? Or another like it?

I'd like to look into getting a policy that pays out on days of rain (or weekends) for the winter.

I've heard of it. In fact, some years ago the idea or product was advanced through an article in one of trade journals.

Some of my clients checked it out and said the insurance premium was too expensive for their blood.

Insurance companies always win. They will take in more money than they will pay out. So why not make yourself a good old fashioned "rainy day fund" whatever you would have been willing to pay the ins. co. as a premium put it in your Rainy day fund. When you need it you got it.
