Being still an active pilot, I am always amused to see the stories about flying cars ready in just a year or two. Thought about that the other day while sitting still on the interstate for an hour. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? Maybe not so fast. Flying is pretty different from driving. There are some fairly strict rules of behavior that you really need to follow when flying. Imagine the thrill when thousands simply deploy their wings or rotors and just take off ! Of the 350 million or so people here, there are only 590,000 active licensed pilots. It would be fun to watch though.
