Does anyone know how to increase the delay on the dryer start up with a water wizard 1.0. The wizard panel sends a signal out to the dryer start panel, which is controlled by a plc. I see how to set the total drying time on the plc, but not the staging. There are no instructions in my manual for the dryer start plc. I want to increase start up between dryers.

It looks like it is 2 seconds right now. I want to go to 3 or 4. I just changed a different unit with four dryers to 3.5 seconds apart; from 2. It dropped the start up amperage from 310 amps when the last one came on, to 215 amps when the last one came. That will be a nice savings on my demand charge.
 
If it's controlled by a PLC, you may need to alter its parameters. What is the maker/model number?

I knew someone would ask me that. I forgot to get that info. I will get it on Monday. Right now the only parameter that is in there is the total time. As Bill suggested, I can just get two inline relays for the 2nd and third dryer. They are only $28 from McMaster-Carr, and are easily placed inline.

MEP, I finally got that plc mopdel #. It is a Moeller EASY 619-AC-RC. I have no instruction with it, but playing with it I can only find one settable parameter. That is the total drying time. I know thaere has got to be a way to set the delay between starts somewhere. Any help is appreciated.
 
MEP-boy my spelling sucked on that last post. I just went to the Moeller website. It looks like I need software, and connections to the plc to make any changes. That is not worth the hassel. I will just get two inline delay relays from McMaster-Carr for $26 each. That is the easy way to go, plus I will have constant control over the delay.
 
That makes sense - the Siemens software and cable together would run about $400. I doubt the Moeller would be much less.
