is it true if i have wash select II from unitec , i must use their credit card processing company (Mercury)? Seems like their % rates are fluctuating like waste mgt with their "fuel charge" gimmick.

txheat,
Please note that we also offer Paymentech as a credit processor for the Wash Select II. If you have any questions, please contact Nancy in our Merchant Services Department at 443-561-1200 x 133.
Thank you,
Jen Ward

Paymentech's rates are pretty craptastic nowadays as well. They are, however, offering great rates to new customers through Sam's Club.

I contacted Mercury today and they told me that with Unitec everyone is at the same rate. 1.74% with zero swipe charge.

TXheat...what are you paying?

i forgot what they originally quote me for. The true rate is not that low, i dont think. If i take the monthly charge divide by the total sales i get an average rate since january of 5.24%. Last 2 months rates were at 6% & 7%. Last year however rates average 4.88% with highest rate being 9.7% for months of july and august.

I'll need to check my bills, but it is supposed to be a flat "Unitec/Corporate" rate. What do they say when you mention the rate differentials?

I wish we could connect up with http://www.squareup.com They have a simple rate structure and the service works great. PayPal now offers a similar service. I see you can now pay via PayPal at Home Depot. I hope these services can make some in roads into the main stream in years to come and give some competition to the current merchant processors we have to choose from now...their fee structures are nearly impossible to figure out or predict.

everytime it dials out for cc processing, it cuts off my internet cameras.
I had the same issue - I put the phone/DSL filter in the box outside and ran separate shielded/grounded wires to the two modems.
