    friction after wax

Just my 0.02 cents, I look at this similar to comparing the pros and cons of spray painting vs roller and brush painting if that makes sense. Now I'm just speaking of opinion and observation from working at multiple washes and visiting others, almost all applied wax prior to the last...

    Plans for future car wash.

You guys are awesome. Thanks. Been thinking about it and the first car wash I worked at has a similar building design I'm looking for. Only thing is I'll have to reverse the flow of traffic. So in other words where the blowers are would be the prep zone where as the current prep zone would be...

    Plans for future car wash.

The wash I work at is corporate owned. The head of any location is a GM rather than an owner. Little chance of buying it. Things about car washes in my area is many washes in my area were built many years ago when little detail to the flow of traffic. For example one of the washes I used to...

    Plans for future car wash.

So another question for y'all, I want to bring the wash up flex serve but doing some thinking today, I know in the end it will be more expensive but I'm thinking about the option to build the wash express exterior on a larger parcel of land then after several years as an express wash adding...

    Plans for future car wash.

Of course I don't plan to go alone. I want to go into it on a partnership. So far I think I'm off to a great start in the wash industry. Having worked several washes and knowing a lot of guys in the industry. Once I'm off of the leash with SSI I can look for a full time management job and put...

    Plans for future car wash.

If y'all want I can post a few pictures of my ideas. Or rather take pictures of them. Designing a wash is one thing. But building and running it is quite another.

    Plans for future car wash.

I've posted in the past about building a flex serve car wash. I feel out of place here being one of the only members who doesn't currently own a wash and won't in the near future (less than 10 years) I'm trying to get as educated as I can so be patient with me. I'm still learning. Ok, I've...

Long term plans to Flex serve

It's me again. I apologize that I'm not as active on this forum. Anyway over the past few weeks a Co-worker of mine and I at the grocery store I work at have been planning a one stop shop type establishment. Basically this would incorporate a flex serve car wash, C-store/fuel, Auto mechanic...

    Foam vs. Cloth

Gallop Brush makes good foam. Both in C-channel and star sections.

    When to start RFID/Unlimited programs.

A new wash in town began his RFID system before grand opening day. Got to test drive that overhead scanner a week before we opened. Was fun. The only thing I can think of that would be a significant draw back to beginning an RFID plan after opening is having to screw around with the ICS. Not too...

    flex service site plan ...

Typically Vacuums are located in the dumpster building. Then employee parking on the other side of that. Not absolutely necessary but 9 times out of 10 this is done. At least at the washes I've visited.

    Calling for Flex serve investors.

Owning a business is never an easy ride through la la land. I see what owning a business can do to people. But someone's got to do it. A little birdy once told me when your pile of money saved up is big enough that you can jump off and break your neck when all fails, you're ready to start a...

    Foam vs. Cloth

Anyone use Neoglide? Or better yet Sonny's Whisper top brush? If so how well does that stuff work? In my area only one wash uses Neoglide and another wash has the Whisper top Sonny's makes but I'm not sure whether Neoglide is better as far as foam goes.

    Calling for Flex serve investors.

Not trying to claim that site my self. I'm hoping someone else jumps on it. Never been on one of these tours before. I'm only 21 still maturing. And if I ever own a wash it will won't be for a long time. That's why I feel it's best to begin learning now so by the time I cross that bridge I'll be...

    flex service site plan ...

Parsonii, Your site also sounds a bit like Wash masters in Arlington. Can't remember how long that tunnel is. Big Man did it but they have the similar site layout. The tunnel with the vacuums along the side and a 2-3 bay detailing center. Buff and dry from what I hear are excellent additions to...

    Calling for Flex serve investors.

I'm going on a SCWA wash tour here in a few weeks. Just to clarify I hope to one of these days open a car wash maybe sooner if I win the lotto :). I've worked at many washes and been to the regional conventions since 2010 and have gained some knowledge of the industry. I've been fascinated by...

    Equipment layout - opinions

Question is how much equipment will do the job? At the wash I worked at we had a half spyder basically without the front wraps. It was a mitter/wrap with tire/rocker mounted under. Spyders do well especially if they're the only friction component in the tunnel. You can even go all out with the...

Express Wash Manufacturers - Which do I choose from?

I personally am really familiar with Sonny's and Tommy. I've worked on Belanger and basically maintenance usually involves dismantling a whole piece of equipment and in the end you'll be shouting every four letter word in the dictionary. Not saying Belanger doesn't make good equipment. Tommy/AVW...

    SCWA 2013 photos

Sorry for the small photo size. I uploaded to Flickr from my phone. Anyway I hope everyone can see them. One of these days when I get lucky I'll get to the ICA in Las Veges.
