    Foam Brush Hose

Yes that is reasonable for a crimp tool. I think the more expensive one is worth it in the long run.

    Foam Brush Hose

Thank you for this idea. I don't have a crimp machine, but will give it a try using the Kuriyama over the pushlok barb. I have one question especially if using blue hose, does any crud get in between the kuriyama and hose and look unsightly over time? I always use black so may not be an issue...

    Foam Brush Hose

As shown by CWguy, those are the ones I use. Push lock Barb. Brass, 3/8" on both the male fitting and barb. About $2 from KR. It will not slip off from handling. The only issue is that if you do not use a hose protector, over time the hose will start to split open right at the end of the...

    Foam Brush Hose

Used the steel HP single braid 3/8" hose for past 15 years. Always did not like it very much: Slapping against the car, weight of the hose, and my main concern was when the outer part of the hose started cracking the steel wire could become exposed and potentially stab a customer. Been...

Update on other self serve prices and time

Looking at the posts so far and removing some of the variations such as CC charge differences and the $5/15 minutes charge option, to me it looks like this: $2.50 for 4:30 $3 to start...3 minutes $2.50 @ 3:30 $2.50 to start for 4 Min $3.50 for 4:40 $3.00 for 4 mins $3-4 minutes $2/4 minutes...

Vacs $3 - 5 minutes.. Should have done it sooner..

Thanks for the replies. New express is still under construction. So not sure on how free vac is structured. I seen drawing at city hall that said free vacs on signage. Will have to ramp up the vac maintenance. I could probably change out the hoses and claws more frequently. As said, they do...

Vacs $3 - 5 minutes.. Should have done it sooner..

Can anyone comment on their vac pricing strategy or revenues when having to consider a new nearby express tunnel offering free vacs. I'm too low on pricing as far as I'm concerned but this throws a wrench in things. Competition I believe has an impact on what u can do if they offer value...

Vacs $3 - 5 minutes.. Should have done it sooner..

Been operating my SS for 20 years. I'm at $2 for 6 minutes, 4 minutes on the turbo function. I have 8 vacs. 4 are combo units. Surprise surprise having an EE opening 1/2 mile away on small lot with 5 free vacs. Don't know what to expect. My vacs are about 18% of my revenues. Kind of the gravy.

Remote Access Public Address (PA) System

I agree, changing my DVR with these capabilities would likely be the best option. Mine is 16 channel about 4 years old. With DVRs you just don't know, could die anytime or keep going. Like all electronics, people tend to upgrade when the technology hits a certain price point. Chaz, what...

Remote Access Public Address (PA) System

MD. Came across the IP cameras. These what you are referring to? Some of these have audio out and in jacks. Could use them as the method for a PA system. Not so much for the video. Plus they seem to have smartphone interfaces. Fairly inexpensive option just add an amp to some speakers...

Remote Access Public Address (PA) System

Thanks. Will investigate. Wondering if that audio card can only be used with their DVRs. If not, then a definite option.

Remote Access Public Address (PA) System

Anyone have a remote access PA system? I've searched the Internet high and low without any luck for a system that I can access remotely to make an announcement over my outside speakers if I see any suspicious activity. My current 16 channel security camera DVR does not have this capability...

    Time Perception Change

Chaz, I think we are handling the bucket washers / detailers more or less the same other than our cycle charge. I like that wording you use as well. But back to the perception on time, as an industry do we think we can sell the concept that bay time is suppose to be paid time. Will customers...

    Time Perception Change

$2 per token. My nearest competitor is $2 for 3:45. I am contemplating dropping my time as well to 3:45 or even 3:30. But I am not sure this will deter bucket washers. I don't have a lot of them, but I have noticed an uptick. I have a lot of high rises near me, they often bring a bucket and...

    Time Perception Change

Going to be making some changes to the decals on my coin box faceplates. I know there has been many posts about bucket, dry brush, cloth and sponge washers, along with people occupying time in bays drying and detailing their cars. Right now with regards to equipment time I display on my...

    Clear Curly Hose

I do not have roll down doors. Ceiling/canopy height is 13 feet. So fairly open and the hoses are in contact with direct sunlight. In fact two of my end bays are covered with a canopy but only one wall, o these bays and curly hose get direct sunlight in morning and afternoon.

    Clear Curly Hose

Have had the clear curly hose for tri-foam wax gun for about 5 or 6 years. Most are just now starting to become more yellow and brittle. However, less sun up here in the northwest, and air not dry. I'm happy with the life I have gotten out of these. My braided HP hoses are the ones that I...

    Bucket washers and dry brushers!!!

I have signs on my property - "No Hand or Bucket Washing during daylight hours". I figure this is somewhat of a compromise. During the day respect my business, at night when there are no line ups I am OK with it. After that you have to just enforce it, otherwise they won't take it seriously...
