What are used Coleman vacs worth?

Assuming they are oval and 3 motor vacs with new everything and maybe even dixmor timers, I think you could get close to $3k for the shampoo I’m not sure about the fragrance, probably less than that.... especially from a guy who likes the Coleman vacs and is looking to upgrade. Customers don’t...

    Acceptable ROI

Robert you are truly trolling right now. Something with an ROI of 50% has a 2 year payback. Something with an ROI of 20% has a 5 year payback. In Earl's question the lifespan of the equipment is not relevant. What a car wash owner wants in regards to a return on his money is. Earl: I said...

    ADA --American Disabilities Act—Update

Have him finish his rehab and get his occupancy permit, then once the city is done with him and he is open and running, have him put the vendor in place and plug it in. Unless it is a through the wall this should work. Once the city is done with their processes they won't be back measuring...

    Which Air Dryer for Compressor?

I use a similar setup to car wash guy, but I just use the oil cooler, not the fan... on the output of the cooler I put an upside down check valve sort of like a "T" so that the condensed moisture will drop down to the bottom of the T, and once the air pressure drops down the check valve will...

    installing an Air shamee

we just did it ourselves and installed one in our busiest bay. We attached a timer to it to calculate the payback. It isn't used that much, so our payback will be about 4 years (keep in mind our cost basis was much lower, since we did it ourselves) Thus I haven't bothered to install it at any...

    Kr vanilla cream

I think it "flashes" faster than most of the TCP's out there and have tried to use it in washes where i have drying problems. Back in the day I was buying it straight from shore corp. After a while it just wasn't worth ordering one chemical from them for me, so I stuck with Rainx and...

    Kr vanilla cream

FWIW i've been using this and I love it. https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-30430-shore-901-clearcoat-drying-agent-5-gallon.aspx I've even been using it as a TCP when i'm in a bind and almost like it more than Rainx/durashield. It claims the same stuff as this thread: (needs to stay...

    Rain Guarantee

I am thinking of doing a rain guarantee on my top wash, we are in the NW and i think it would be a good bonus for some customers. I'm thinking of having some relatively hard to knock off coupons made and have the attendant predate a few ahead, then hand them out with the free air freshner when...

    Vibration Alarms

For those of you who use vibration alarms on your paystations, what do you use? What would you do differently if you could? I'm thinking of installing them before the summer hits.

    Hamilton ACW credit card reader.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QUEF1EA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I just buy these and the wire pigtail from the old DTT to the one that came in the mail. BTW, the same method works for the Swipe at the bay for Coleman. Typically the reader goes bad, not the wiring...

    flojet vs procon pumps

Dead headed, yes, and with me I make sure the pump is below the supply tank so it is gravity feeding into the inlet side of the pump. I have pumps over 10 years old when this is the case. I'm at the coast too, and have a lot of moisture in the lines (never gets too cold though).

No more Coins..CC or Cash Only..Very Nice.. 54% Cards.

Like to use the following equation because it includes all costs (even the BS statement/monthly fees) gross credit card expenses for the month / gross credit card receipts for the month. I have 2 SS, 1 Auto, and 1 DW with the DAN system. I use E-xact and costco (elavon) and my cost was 3.75%...

    SS/IBA Valuation

I think if you poked around a little on this site you would find that during good time IBA/SS car washes sell for 3.5-4.5x gross. During bad times its probably something like 2.7-4x gross. Since its all pretty much automated, you can look at it somewhat like buying the gross revenue, then...

Credit and debit card start up charge

As a consumer I hate being di#$ed for that "convenience fee" by a business, and all things being equal I will not patronize a place that does so. As a business strategist I believe it is a cost of doing business, and that we should do what we do with our other costs and bury them beneath the...

    Used Touchfree make sense?

Gosh Dang it... I was just going to lurk on this thread, but you all sucked me in.... Short answer to the title of this thread: Waxman, since you are now an experienced operator and can do most things yourself, it is the only thing that makes sense. Let's talk depreciation cost: I know you...
