Several years ago, I took a chance and got two membranes from eBay. Do a search for " CW XLE-4040 Replaces AXEON HF4-4040 & HF5-4040 RO Membrane 4" x 40" 2600 HF4 HF5 ". The seller is located on the Coast.
These membranes replaced a couple of name brand membranes...and were $175 each.....and...
A lot of people don't care for the ARO's. I've learned how to fix them over the years....so they work just fine for me. I've sourced the orings for the air section, so I can rebuild an air section for 10 bucks vs. $75 to get the official ARO kit. Out of 10 pumps, I've only had one wet section...
It could possibly be ice.
Pneumatic driven pumps work when the pressurized air is allowed to expand. This causes cooling. Cooling and moisture cause ice.
You state that you removed the moisture. How did you do this?
My wash uses a LOT of ARO pneumatic pumps. On certain days (usually...
A quick check shows that Mouser doesn't have any more stock, and labels them as obsolete.
I see a couple on eBay from China.....Hmm I'm not so sure.
I'm going try a different UPS, and see what happens. It's been VERY cold here....so I'm not sure if that's a factor. I know it's too cold to...
Another "nugget" into the mystery....
A call to Hamilton Tech support reveals that the suspect memory chip can be vulnerable to power spikes.
Over twenty years ago, I had to have a controller repaired, due to a nearby lightning strike. After that expensive encounter, I installed an APS...
This just happened to me today.
What was "gibberish", were the welcome prompts. Somehow, the controller lost the welcome prompts, items names and tokenote value. The "custom" item names were gone.
Everything else, including Audit Vault count....was kept.
Hmmmm.
I had recently (a month or...
Sometimes when you get the "gibberish", it seems like the display has lost it's serial communication with the motherboard. It loses it's "handshake". Anyway, I've had luck cycling the power to get it working again. Sometimes it takes a longer "power down" than others. I'd try turning the ACW...
FWIW....I've been replacing my almost 30 year old Cat 623's with Arimitsu 511's as they need major repair. I'm down to my last Cat 623....so this thread "spooked" me last November. I called Arimitsu ASAP. Yes, Greg was no longer there. What I DID indeed get, was the same caring, competent...
Randy....you ask a GREAT question (Where did you get the chip from)......
To be completely honest, the chip that worked came from Mouser (a reliable supplier). ($35)
The chip that did NOT work, came from eBay overseas. ($10)
It was worth a try.
Lesson learned.....
FWIW, Replacing the SRAM with a Dallas DS1244Y-70 didn't work. The ACW 4 kept saying "Memory altered", and after clearing the alert...it just kept going in loops. I was (at one point) able to program in a few prices....but they wouldn't stick. My controller didn't like that chip.
I put in a...
FWIW, I've used Wood Brothers for years. Softner parts. RO parts. Membranes. Resin etc.....Was recommended to me via this forum 20 years ago.
Never got any "cheap crap" from them.
In my opinion, they are the real deal.
Your mileage may vary.....
BTW....the thin 1/4 line, is the pilot gas line. It comes out of a small pressure regulator, and terminates in the silver solenoid at the far right side of the picture. This "pilot" solenoid is what recently failed. Without this $100 part.....the boiler will NOT run. There's no way around...
Mike, I like your setup better than mine. I have a Robertshaw valve. You have a Honeywell. Your pressure regulator, on off valve, and Mod valve are all seperate. Mine are all built into one. That's probably why the valve is so expensive.
Recently, my Raypak 399k BTU floor heat boiler wouldn't fire. It turned out that the Baso pilot light solenoid coil failed. No pilot....no floor heat. That little $100 part had me shut down due to no floor heat.
I've been able (for close to 30 years), to avoid any "revenue halting"...
Today, got the "Memory Altered" alert. All prices and prompts were lost and default price of $63.75 appeared when any wash selected.
Upon disassembly, I found that in June 2021, the Dallas DS1243Y-120 had been replaced. Gee, that's almost brand new???? (FWIW, the old "battery" module plus...
