Although we do not have one yet I like an additional rinse function after all wax, polish or triple foam. My theory on why people do not read signs is because most have some type of ADD caused by too many ads.

You're over-complicating it. It's laziness or selective blindness.

TXT a pic of the sign to customer!!!
I did.
Also sent a very polite text stating that "I appreaciate your concern and respect your opinion, but all carwash chemicals have die in them from pink to red, yellow blue and green, and that any vehicle should be throughly rinsed after applying any chemical to the surface of the vehicle as stated on the signs".

Our wall menu & menu on our coin box both have "rinse" then "wax" & then "rinse" in downward order. I think that provides a bit of "spoon feed help" for those that need it. Maybe not as easy to do though with the more traditional rotary switch coin boxes.

I just redid the lids not long ago and changed the functions and put soap, rinse, wax, then SF, and I was debating if I should put the wax before rinse then thought not everyone will use it, so I put the rinse before the wax, should have done the other way around.

I personally think you have it right, as long as you have the spot free last.

If you only have one rinse then yes that is the better way. What I was trying to say in my earlier post would then make you selections in order: soap, rinse, wax, rinse, SF.

I know the customer did not read the sign, but the one redeeming part of the note was that the customer was not nasty, and wrote the message thinking they were helping you. I think some customers would demand a refund and have a pretty harsh tone - even if they were at fault. Still pretty funny, though.

I'm going to try to ask some of the customers that I engage in conversation what they would like to see to get the message across. I'm sure I'll get all kinds of answers.

I dunno, can u ever please everyone?
Simple answer is no. I always run the foam brush with heavy flow because so many people start with it on a dry car. A few people have complained that there's too much soap. So far they all understand when I tell them the main reason why. I also run it rich to get them to spend a little more rinsing, but I don't tell them that.
