I presently have a WW HV and a Hamilton Goldline paystation. This paystation works well, but now I'm seeing a fee of about $150 per month for the PCI compliance deal. Has anyone swapped over to Cryptopay and just modified the Paystation to get away from the fees? I have an extra crypto-pay swiper but would buy one with out a button if needed?

Also, with this unit I have seen three times where someone actually puts quarters into the CC slot and it is a PITA to get them out.

I'm not a super busy wash ( maybe 20-25 a day average). Still new to this business as it isn't my main forte for revenue.

This site has been great so any and all opinions are welcome?

Thanks in advance Vic

If your Goldline is on dialup processing, you're fully in compliance with PCI. Just dispute the charge and refuse to pay it. Compliance is voluntary anyway.

There used to be a shim to mount between the door and the card reader so coins would roll back out. Someone told me they cut out the bottom of the reader and put a can under it to catch the coins. He figured if someone is dumb enough to stick quarters in a card reader slot, he wasn't worried about taking their money.

We have been VERY happy with cryptopay on our Hamilton ACW 4 with a laser 4000. No pci compliance fee. Easy for customers and super easy for us. Cryotopay charges us approximately 4.5%. People spend more with cc as you know so it easily makes up for the fees. We have never had quarters in the swiper.

You won't because the Cryptopay is a slide swiper, the Goldline is an insert card. They usually screw up the swiper trying to get their quarters out with a pocket knife.

Had one site on Cryptopay for at least a year with both an ACW4 and goldline, other than the pixels on a display going out no issues. Crytopay just sent me some new LEDs and I replaced them myself. No more failed batches causing a lockup, and I got rid of my phone lines and saved an additional $50/month

MEP thats true. I will look into the shim. I will give TSYS a call the charges are for Card Compromise Plan $125.00 per month and TSYS Merchant insights essentials. $29.99 per month. Dropping the phone line isn't an option since it costs the same as not having it and the WW uses it to alert me if the IBA has an issue. I really don't want to invest in changing this over if it really isn't worth it.

I will let everyone know what TSYS Merchant Services tells me when I call them.

Thanks,
Vic

Failed batches causing it to lock up is a PITA. Why does that not happen w/ Cryptopay?
Also, $50/mo ph line is CHEAP!
What pixels are you talkin about?
Switching to Cryptopay sounds like a good idea...🤔😏

OK. So I spoke to TSYS and I had to go to a website Controlscan and fill out a questionnaire. Now the PCI $125.00 fee will be removed, The $29.99 fee was for something I hadn't heard of and was for doing reports, etc.. I said drop that also.

Saves me $155 a month

Cryptopay doesn't have to dial out to batch daily transactions.

My high speed internet is $50 with a phone line. AT&T.

The ones in the display.

It's a bit faster, but dialup makes your fees a lot cheaper. If you can find a merchant processor with 1.2% and no transaction fees like Costco used to offer, you can save a bundle.

So MEP and Sooner with these BS fees gone the rates aren't that bad, still uses dial out. Really never any issues except for the occasional no batch, ( which is easily fixed and Hamilton does have great service over the phone) and the idiots putting coins in the CC slot.
So I'll just leave it alone for now.

Have a great weekend everyone.

If you already have cryptopay on site you should definitely upgrade it. It is a faster process time versus dial up. I switched to goldlines with the retrofit kit and love it.

A hacksaw blade is the best tool to get coins out of the credit card reader. Put the blade on top of the coins and they will roll out with a little pull.
