I recently added a Ring Doorbell to my Hamilton ACW. So far I’m very impressed. It shows great video of vehicle, customer and payment. I can actually see what denomination of bill a customer is using and the direction they are inserting cards. It allows me to listen live and or in playback and determine if I’m having issues with my equipment....I did notice an increase in cards not reading....I think I’ve narrowed that down to a reader issue.

At this point I’ve received about 5 “rings” and I’ve answered 3 and solved the issues. Hopefully the “rings” won’t become an issue in my non Carwash life...whatever that is.

I’m using the video doorbell pro with the chime pro extender. My WiFi connection is pretty good, though I may add an outdoor extender. Ring also makes a hard wired (rg59 cable) version that may make more sense especially with new installs ...due to all the electrical interference at the wash.

Can you post a picture of it, curious to how you have it mounted that gives you that field of view.

I have a ring doorbell pro and was impressed with the video quality and field of view. The lens view is very wide.

Yes. The ring field of view is very wide and very clear. I mounted mine on the gold line just under me key pad. I used the provided wedge mount to tilt the unit up a bit.

Have you had issues with customers "ringing" you at night or other times I see them pushing the button just to push it?

At this point ( about 60 days from install) I’ve received about 5 “rings”. I’ve answered three. One pushed the button thinking it was the receipt button, the others were having issues. So at this point customers pushing the button has not been a big deal.

I have cryptopay on my Wash Selects and I get so many people with bad car swipes I would be afraid I would be getting Ringed all the time. That's why I was curious what CC you were using.

Ah! Sounds like you have an issue with your c/c system. My “RING” actually helped me figure out I had an issue with a C/C swiper. I was noticeing my cones moved, indicating people left without a wash. In watching the ring video I noticed I was getting an excessive number of bad swipes. So yeah....I’d rather not have lots of RINGS....I’d also like to know of and solve an issue.

Cryptopay is a swipe through reader with a reader head on one side so we might have the issue of people ringing us all the time. It takes people to try it over and over again before they figure out that the magnetic strip was on the wrong side. I had to help a guy swipe his card because the magnetic strip was not even toward the swiper. I'm not sure how these people even tie their shoes in the morning.

Yep. In watching RING playback I do notice many card issues are wrong insert direction.

Would love to hear some more comments about using a "Ring" doorbell.

How did you mount this to the ACW?

just drilled two mounting holes and one for wires. Mounted between key pad and bill acceptor....or anyplace u have free space. Ran wire for transformer through the existing cable guard on hinge side of door. Plugged into 110 outlet in ACW. Works great and not abused

I have a Ring doorbell on my residence but want to replace it. Complaints:
- it is very slow to respond. When I am away, and get a notice on my phone, there has been so much lag that by the time I get the doorbell picture loaded all I see is an empty porch or people driving away in their car. Apparently lots of people have this same problem, so Ring developed "RapidRing" which does not have all the bloatware in the regular Ring app. I just installed RapidRing so we will see if it is any better.
- I did not realize by installing this I would become part of a "neighborhood" of Ring users who chat about everything from a bear in their yard to petty complaints about things. I finally figured out how to turn off all that chatter.
- After the 30 day free trial expired, I did not choose to pay for stored video from my doorbell. But it is obvious Ring is storing those videos from my doorbell anyway. I recently encountered one, and the Ring app said something like I am not allowed to view it unless I sign up for the service. I am very uncomfortable with anyone possessing video from my property and even worse not allowing me to know about it or access it.
- Ring has been in the news about sharing such videos with law enforcement. So if I were ever to get in an altercation with a door-to-door salesman, Ring video could be used in court against me, even though I have "no right" to access it.

I didn't know any of this prior to purchasing. I wouldn't purchase it again and will replace it with a non-cloud service when I can.

We recently purchased a logitech “Circle” camera which has a 180° viewing angle. It does not have the ring capability for a person to ring you, but it has to way communications and that may be an option for somebody who wants to be able to speak to a customer without having the customer able to contact them first.
