Battery powered tools

Has anyone had good luck with battery powered string trimmers or leaf blowers?

I saw an ad for the Makita ones and they look nice.

Any feedback is appreciated/. Thanks

I have STihl leaf blowers and string trimmers. If you watch the sales you can get a bigger battery than stock with them sometimes. Most come with a AG10 battery standard but if you can get the AG20 your motors will run much longer between charges and the Stihl has a good warranty if they are for home use. " "

I have a WORX leaf blower that pushes air out like a gas model . I can get about 35 minutes (on max speed) out of it before I need to recharge. Excellent for cleaning up the lot, around vacs and bays. Anywhere leaves and other types of natural debris, dust, dirt, pollen needs to be pushed out of the way. Keeps the property looking neat and clean.

Also can dry a car in nothing flat if it has sealer wax or drying agent before rinsing. Done that too!

We have gone all electric with mostly Ryobi, blower, string weeder, chain saw, trimmer, hammer drill. The new batteries last longer and with each device we get another battery to have a few on hand. Power blower (the longer model as they sell several) can move the dirt in the bays even if slightly wet. Power blower we purchased uses a different Ryobi battery than everything else but very happy with the tools.

We have the ECHO string trimmer and the blower, use 4 amp hr batteries. The 2 amp hour batteries do not last. We can trim our entire lot with the trimmer and we use the blower every day. We have had them for 4 years now and are on the second set of batteries. Most trimmers have a power setting, set it low as you can for longer lasting batteries.

And no more pulling that #$@% rope.

I have a have tried all the battery powered ones and just ended up buying a Stihl BR700. There is no battery powered unit that comes close to what the 700 puts out. 200 mph and 900+cfm.

Just got a battery line trimmer and love it. (Boy is that a sign you're growing old.) It self feeds so no more winding line on a spool. Easily does my yard and battery is fully powered back up in about 20 minutes.

I bought a number of the Ryobi One+ power tools and home lawn and garden tools. They're pretty lousy but get the job done and are inexpensive. I'm about to put them all on Craigslist because the batteries just don't last. I have a dozen batteries and only one is good, that one is of the last pair I bought, the other I charged once, used once, and it won't recharge. I'm going back to gas for lawn tools and Ridgid for power tools.

A couple people I know have the higher grade Ryobi lawn tools and love them. I've tried the trimmer and it's every bit as good as a good gas one, with a long run time on a charge.

FWIW I bought a corded Chicago Electric chainsaw from Harbor Freight to cut up a tree in my backyard that broke off at the ground. I'm highly impressed with it - with its 16" blade I've turned the 26" trunk into firewood. IIRC it was on sale for around $45. I keep it at the wash to rip up pallets people sometimes leave by the dumpster. It takes 30 seconds to turn one into kindling.

I have been using the Stihl cordless chainsaw and Polesaw and the Weedeaters with very good luck and batteries last a long time and have gone all Milwaukee on my power tools with Awesome Results. It pays to Buy Good Tools especially when you use Them Alot.

I don't have any experience with their landscaping tools, but the Milwaukee line would be convenient because you could also use the M18 battery platform for a variety of hand tools such as their hammer drill, angle grinder, impact drivers, etc.

I do have all those tools you mentioned and actually bought there fan yesterday its works great. I get my Milwaukee Cordless tools from Morrison Supply.

I have 18v Brushless Makita for all Cordless hand tools. Have had them for years and never had a battery go bad. Just got a 4.5" right angle grinder, die grinder, and plunge router....I can see now I'll have to get another right angle grinder....That thing is nice! The combo hammer drill/driver is nice. No more dragging the hammer drill out to put tapcons in concrete. The 1/2" high torque Impact is unbelievable! It delivers 740 ft lbs of tightening torque and 1,180 ft lbs of nut busting torque....It will twist a wheel stud right off if you aren't careful...

For blowers, weedeater, and push mower....I'm an 80v Kobalt fan....The weed eater and Push mower are awesome! The blower is great for cleaning out the garage. Not enough umfff for the cw...Although I think it would be hard to beat the Stihl 600 backpack blower with a battery power blower, just not there yet...They didn't have the 700 when I got mine...Might have to trade the 600 in and get the 700 battery start.....Would be nice to not have to pull start anything ever again! Did I mention it sure is nice not to have to drag around extension cords any more?!?!?

Got the E Go 56 V Blower from Home depot while back. Has 2 Speeds and since I got the hedge trimmer as well depending on the job I have 2 batteries for either or. I get tired before 2 batteries lose power.
