One Solution on Getting your CW Cameras onto the Internet

Compliments to Peter White

Configuration at the Car Wash:

I have a “SpeedStream” DSL modem from my phone company at the car wash.  It has a static Internet IP address, which is preferred so you know what IP address to use to connect from home.  My DVR is software called WashVision from Imagine Innovations, Inc. (www.coincarwash.com).  This software accepts remote connection over a specific IP port, let’s say it is port 6107.  On the DSL modem, I had to port forward for port 6107 to the IP address on my Linksys Router.  I have a Linksys Router because I actually have multiple PCs at the car wash connected together, all utilizing the DSL connection for Internet access.  Then, on my Linksys Router, I had to port forward the same port to the IP address of my DVR PC.  Once this was done correctly, and once I had my DVR software configured to accept remote connections, I then installed the remote viewing version of the DVR software on my home PC and configured it to connect to the static IP address of the DSL modem at the car wash.  This all went very smoothly with some help from the guys at Imagine Innovations.
